Page 2NO. 1 ROLLING LADDER The No. 1 Rolling Ladder is a beautiful addition to any home or business: it endures the rigors of industry yet has the grace and beauty of fine furniture. Our famous No. 1 Rolling Ladder is made of best grade red oak, which is filled and varnished. Steps are screwed to rails, not nailed, and rods are placed under each step, for greater strength. In lieu of a regular oak finish, (a Dupont clear penetrating wood finish) the ladder can be finished in various popular wood shades, as desired. You may choose from any of the Minwax interior wood finishes, or, if you prefer to finish the ladder yourself, unfinished oak is also available. Our ?Top Slide? feature, which allows the ladder to be pushed in vertically and pulled out for use, is standard in both the #210 Roll Type and the #230 Hook Slide fixtures. This feature allows you to conserve floor space in tight areas. The #210 Roll Type top fixtures are used for a ladder that is permanently attached to the track. The #230 Hook Slide fixtures are used when the ladder needs to be removed from one section of track to another. The ladder rolls easily on bottom fixtures (No. 270 Regular). Also available is an old style malleable iron bottom fixture (No. 270 old style) for a more antique look. The No. 1 oak rolling ladder can be made out of any hard wood, including Ash, Birch, Cherry, Mahogany, Maple, Walnut and White Oak, for an additional cost. The normal measurements of the No. 1 Rolling Ladder are as follows: Height - as required (7? clearance above the track is required) Steps - 4 ¼? deep (see figure 1) Side Rails - 3 ¼? deep Outside width = 16? All measurements can be altered We suggest you align your track with a shelf, one or two shelves down from where you have to reach. Also available is a top bent No. 1 Rolling Ladder, as well as a No. 1 Rolling Ladder with extended sides, for a loft. The No. 1 Rolling Ladder runs on 7/8? slotted track, which is fastened to shelving by brackets mounted either in a vertical or horizontal position, or on the top of shelving. The track can be bent for a 90 degree curve (inside) - with a 30? radius. Only inside curves are possible. Please Note: The hook slide top fixture (No. 230) cannot be used with a curve. The standard ladder fixtures are zinc plated and the steel track is aluminum painted unless otherwise specified. The other options for the fixtures, track and brackets, are black (oxidized), brass plated and polished, chrome plated and polished, antique brass plated, satin brass plated, satin nickel plated or brushed chrome plated and lacquered. - Other finishes available. Also available is our No. 335 spring loaded safety wheel available in zinc or black (see figure 2). When weight is applied to the ladder the wheels swing away and allow the ladder to sit firmly on the floor. figure 1 figure 2 (No. 335)
